T-Systems Brasil, the Germany-based company with a broad digital portfolio of IT solutions and services, and Valid, the Brazilian multinational provider of secure solutions for identification and tracking, will be together at SAP NOW, to be held on September 11 and 12 in São Paulo.  The two companies have combined their experience to develop a joint WMS (Warehouse Management System) solution that automates and simplifies practically all transportation processes within a distribution center, delivering improved control for warehousing, streamlined processes, optimization of space, and a substantial reduction of the risk of loss of stored merchandise. In addition, the joint solution can be applied in different business segments and operating formats.

The WMS will be demonstrated at T-Systems’ experience space at SAP NOW (Stand 1, Hall B). Visitors will be able to see all the details of each of the system’s modules. Adriano Franki, VP Digital & New Business at Valid, says that the modules to be presented are: Merchandise Receiving; Warehousing & Internal Movement; and Picking & Production Line.

“For the Merchandise Receiving module, the WMS defines the warehousing location, and the warehouse operator reconciles and labels the pallet with the warehousing information,” he explains. The use of tablets, antennas and RFID readers installed in the forklifts enables operators to receive information by simple proximity, so they can verify the storage location defined by the WMS in the digital map.

In the Warehousing & Internal Movement module, the WMS will define the storage location for each item, which will be validated by the forklift. “Each position is identified by a floor tag, and the solution ensures the tracking of items, even in the case of internal movements,” says Franki.

Finally, the Picking & Production Line module allows for the picking order to be received from the production line and placed in the forklift operators’ queue. “The work is allocated, and the picking location is shown on the operator’s tablet; then, after moving the pallet to the location indicated, the operator communicates the clearance of space to the WMS, which then considers it as a storage option for new merchandise,” he states.

All information generated by the solution is consolidated and presented on a dashboard developed by T-Systems Brasil, which is integrated into the SAP management systems. “This means we deliver unique data to the client,” says Thais Mattoso, T-Systems Brasil Senior Sales Manager for IoT and digital solutions.

She emphasizes that, by working together, both companies can offer new ways of helping their clients on their path toward digital transformation. “Our value proposition is to be a single point of contact. If you need an Analytics later, with IoT, we can also do that,” she says.

The WMS developed by T-Systems Brasil and Valid will be presented at SAP NOW, which will be held on September 11 and 12 at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo. Attendees will be able to see how the solution works at T-Systems’ stand: Stand 1, Hall B.
