With this operating agreement, Valid will integrate Alien Technologies’ reference designs(integrated circuits with antennas), which are compatible with all operating frequencies worldwide, into its Latin American product portfolio.

RFID is an automatic identification method that operates via radio signals, and is able to recover and store data remotely through devices called RFID tags. Currently, nearly 100% of Valid’s chips are encapsulated in Brazil (RFID national). The company’s plant, in Sorocaba, Sao Paulo State, was the first plant in the country to produce RFID tags with a genuinely Brazilian chip, in an antenna produced in Brazil.

“The technology is quite versatile and can be applied to different sectors of the economy, complementing solutions from inventory control and tracking of production processes, to the measurement of the effectiveness of the completion of a sale,” explains Adriano Franki, Commercial Superintendent for Valid Payment Solutions.

The partnership is part of Valid’s strategy to expand its portfolio to include high value-added products. “With our new products, we can open new markets for RFID technology both in Brazil and in Latin America,” states Franki.
