Digital certification is a fundamental technological tool for healthcare management in Brazil. This is the concept that Valid brought to the “New Technologies for Healthcare” Seminar, held on March 16 in São Paulo. The digital certificate offers flexibility, but also lends authenticity to the information sent through by virtual means, with security and a guarantee of the integrity of the data and the user’s authenticity.
“The primary advantages of the use of digital certificates, especially in the area of healthcare, lie in its technological and legal properties, offering digital security and legal validity to electronically signed documents, such as electronic patient records. This is the real possibility of replacing manual signatures with digital ones, of eliminating the need for printing and high costs to healthcare institutions, and of processing and authentication of signatures – with an electronic operation performed over the internet, in a simplified, and completely legitimate, manner,” explains Marcio Nunes, Valid CIO.
The New Technologies for Healthcare Seminar covered perspectives of Brazilian healthcare management with the participation of Health Minister Ricardo Barros, who announced new developments in the computerized system for Brazil’s healthcare system (known as SUS). The Ministry of Health’s computerization project will start off with an investment of R$ 1.5 billion per year, rising to R$ 3.4 billion per year in 2019.
The big challenge for the public healthcare system is to include the latest advances in technology to offer an effective management system, with reduced costs, and efficiency of care to ensure a better quality of life for the population.
