Valid participates in the largest event in Brazil’s mineral water industry
The company will be demonstrating how their anti-fraud seals work.
Valid, one of the world’s most experienced companies in the production of secure documents, will be participating in the 27th Brazilian natural mineral water conference, and in Expo-ABINAM 2018, both of which will be held Natal, Rio Grande do Norte State, from September 5 to 7. The initiative is part of the company’s initiative to contribute towards improving processes for tracking the origin of mineral water in Brazil.
During the event, Valid will give demonstrations on the use of the trackable seals – both physical and digital – used to prevent fraudulent bottling of mineral water and to track the origin of the product. The seals also have an important role to play in terms of tax obligations. Ten Brazilian states now require the seal on large bottles, and a few more are preparing to start regulating this market, including small disposable bottles.
Valid’s solutions help mineral water bottling companies to comply with state legislation governing the seal of origin for mineral water bottled in returnable packaging (10- and 20-liter bottles) and in disposable PET bottles, since they contain robust anti-fraud technology. The seals for large bottles contain security features such as an alphanumeric code, a random check code, fluorescent printing on an invisible background that is sensitive to ultraviolet light, a scratch-off portion, holographic hot stamping, and a series of features to prevent their reproduction. The seals for small bottles are printed directly onto the product on the bottling line, using Valid’s system. They can also be printed with special inks or laser printed; they are encrypted to ensure the information’ security. Citizens can use the information contained in the seals to verify the origin of the water, via an app supplied by Valid.
Valid offers customized tracking solutions for segments such as healthcare, telecom, finance, the auto industry, retail, and more. “It’s always good to support events that show a qualified audience how technologies can increase the efficiency and reliability of processes, and, above all, enhance the quality of the product that reaches the consumer,” points out Marcello Ribeiro, Valid’s Director of Identification.
