Valid presents its advances in products and services for mobile telephony during the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016), the largest event in the sector, to be held from February 22 to 25 in Barcelona, Spain. The Brazilian multinational, which operates in the areas of telecommunications, payment methods, identification systems, data solutions and digital certification, is the world’s 5th largest provider of SIM cards, also known as “chips for cell phones”.
The company has more than 20 years of experience in the production of SIM cards, and has been expanding its reach in the sector. In 2015, the company completed the acquisition of Danish company Fundamenture, which at that time had 6.5% of the world SIM card market, with 300 million cards sold annually. The transaction strengthened Valid’s global presence in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
During the MWC 2016, which the organizers say will bring together 100,000 people, Valid will give demonstrations of its solutions for telecommunications, mobile digital marketing, banking applications and mobile payment, in addition to mobile identification solutions. One of the highlights is the use of wearable devices, or simply “wearables” – bracelets, for example, for payment and access control.
Visitors to Valid’s stand (6J50 – Hall 6) will also have the opportunity to get to know the e-UICC, a new-generation SIM card embedded into mobile devices and capable of remotely managing several wireless network signatures, and which observes GSMA specifications.
“Smartphone users are interested in using their devices for more than just surfing the web and making calls. That’s why we have invested in services and products that meet all clients’ demands with excellence and in a customized way,” explains Carlos Affonso D’Albuquerque, Valid’s CEO.
